The Raytown Middle School Library is located in Raytown, MO. We serve students in grades 6-8. The mission of the RMS school library program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information;and that students are empowered to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

 

Library Policies


LIBRARY ACCESS

  • Students will NOT be allowed to come to the library on a pass

  • Students will NOT be allowed to come to the library during passing period

  • Students will check out library books through their English class



LIBRARY BEHAVIOR

  • Students must alert the librarian when they enter the library, so that their name can be recorded in the contact-tracing records

  • Students must use hand sanitizer upon entering the library

  • Only 1 student can be in a row of books at a time

  • If a student touches a book, they must either check it out or place it in the Book Return slot

  • Students will NOT be allowed to use the library’s desktop computers

  • Students will be seated at all times, unless looking for a book



BOOK CHECK OUT

  • Students will be able to put books on hold online, which will then be delivered to them in class

  • Students can check out e-books through the school library and the public library

  • Students can have up to 5 books on their account at a time (including any missing/lost books)

  • Students can keep library books for up to 1 month

  • Virtual students will be able to pick up books through curbside pickup on Wednesdays
